Krav Maga isn’t a traditional martial art: it’s not competitive, there are no rules, belts, katas, or rings. It is a modern and practical form of self-defense designed for the streets, bars, public transportation or for those trips abroad. It focuses on realistic training, stress-tested, easy-to-learn techniques that help build strength, confidence and a fighting mindset.
A typical class with Coach Mitchell includes a rigorous, social, interactive, fun and focused warm-up followed time spent learning skills and techniques. Classes end with a stress/summary drill to ensure students can defend themselves under stress. Classes are social and the environment is supportive because this helps students learn and build confidence.
All beginner level techniques are based on natural and functional movements and reactions to threats and attacks. These are reinforced through stress drills that test your ability to use techniques you have learned under pressure. Testing your ability to remember and perform the learned skills and techniques under mental or physical stress is paramount. Stress training allows you to remember what you have learned when it really counts and helps students react better in the real world.
The skills learned in classes help improve the quality of your day-to-day life and serve as a new empowered and confident mental model for life’s challenges.
