Professor Marcio “Tortinho” Nunes

Born in Rio De Janeiro Brazil, Marcio has dedicated over 35 years studying the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The solid techniques and fluidity displayed by Marcio Nunes, are a result of a combination of years dedicated to the art as well as the experience acquired during countless tournaments both in Brazil and Canada. While training in Brazil at Gracie Barra under the tutelage of Carlos Gracie Jr., Marcio had the great opportunity to meet Roberto “Gordo” Correira, who became a great friend and mentor. Under the instruction of Gordo, Marcio earned his Black Belt in 2008.
Currently a 4th Degree Black Belt, Marcio has been teaching BJJ for over 30 years. Marcio specializes in Gi, No-Gi, and self defense. Marcio has had the pleasure of teaching all levels and ages of athletes, from beginners to UFC fighters. His mandate in BJJ is to maintain consistent improvement of techniques, as well as showing anyone willing to learn, how BJJ can improve their lives.
Marcio is currently teaching in Burlington, Ontario servicing Halton and surrounding areas.
